For more than 25 years, Providence Cancer Institute has been a pioneer in immunotherapy research and treatment – considered one of the most advanced cancer therapies today. As a global leader in immunotherapy, we’re committed to developing treatments that can cure an even greater number of patients.

CONNECT

As a researcher and physician, Kristina labors in her lab to find better treatments and possibly a cure for certain cancers. She splits her time between the lab and the clinic. Kristina is surrounded by a remarkable research team and supported by PCI in a way that allows her to do the best work possible and get her patients into treatment faster.

 

Nuan’s cancer is in remission and she is currently participating in an acupuncture study conducted by Dr. Loch Chandler in PCI’s Integrative Medicine. Yet, Nuan still has the energy and passion to help care for others. As a volunteer in the Infusion Room, Nuan applies what she has learned from her experience to others who are on their own cancer journey.

ENGAGE

Even with a busy schedule and a family, Dr. Hansen is still willing to participate in campaigns like #FinishCancer because he knows how important it is that the word gets out. Finishing cancer takes more than research and treatment, it requires an engaged community of donors, volunteers and caregivers. 

 

After Nate lost a friend to cancer, he decided it was important to say something about it – the way cancer tears hearts apart, but also brings people together. Nate’s friend Fred was a member of a H2C running team before he passed in April 2018. That team and Fred are the center of the story Nate wants to tell. Creating this documentary is Nate’s way of stepping outside the box to educate and help in the fight to finish cancer.

GIVE

Vicky co-founded a nonprofit that helps women of Rwanda, and following her fight against cancer, she has given to PCI with her time and pocketbook, as well as through her passionate testimonials. As a speaker, she has shared her story of surviving cancer and the exceptional care she received from her team at PCI.

 

While young professionals, Jake and his wife Kristen Thomas (both having lost parents to cancer) decided that one day, when they had the means, they would give generously to help fund cancer research. That day came in May when Jake and Kristen purchased their first donor table at Creating Hope. They invited friends and coworkers to their table with the hope they would be inspired to also help #FINISHCANCER.

In 2018, after a successful 27-year run as "I Have a Dream" Oregon re-branded as Greater Than. While their core programming will remain the same, they are deepening our commitment to complex collaboration as an innovative strategy for system-level impact in education. Watch the brand announcement video to learn more.
